Volcano Arenal One Day Adventure Package
Enjoy a beautiful hike through the Costa Rican tropical rainforest, walking for two hours on the Arenal hanging bridges. You will experience wonderful panoramic views of the Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal. Your adventure will continue with a visit to the breathtaking Rio Fortuna waterfall. The plants and animals will join you on the way down to an amazing sixty meter waterfall. Enjoy yourself with a refreshing bath in the cool waters below.
After a busy morning you will enjoy a delicious Costa Rican lunch, then enjoy a rest before continuing with your adventure tour.
At 3:30 pm you will continue on a one and a half hour guided hike through rainforest trails that will lead you to the main observation point of the Arenal volcano. If the weather is good you will witness a spectacular firework of molten lava, and gas eruptions.
After this amazing experience, you will jump into the relaxing mineral hot springs of Tabacon where you will certainly soak away every muscle pain. Delicious buffet dinner is included.

Arenal Volcano Hiking Tour
This tour takes you to the active side of Arenal where our naturalist guide will take you through rainforest trails for a nice, gentle hike to view a large variety of diverse plants and animals, such as monkeys, toucans, wild turkeys, sloths, a large variety of birds, and sometimes snakes.
You will be arriving at the observation point just before sunset, where you will have the chance to hear and feel the deep rumbling that precedes occasional eruptions of steam, smoke, and molten lava. At night, if it’s not cloudy, the show is even more stupendous as the mammoth volcano spews red lava, and huge rocks that glow against the dark sky.
While watching the volcano, and taking pictures, your guide will share some history and information about the area and the volcano’s activity. Then you will continue down to the exotic and relaxing hot springs nearby, to sit back and relax in this soothing water that soaks away every aching muscle.

Safari Float Tour
This tour is best known for the peace and tranquility exuded by the rainforest as you quietly paddle down the beautiful Peñas Blancas River. Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge
Birdwatchers, and nature lovers, this is the tour for you! This all-day trip takes you to the mighty Rio Frio, part of the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge near the Nicaraguan border. Canyoning Waterfall Rappel
Your tour begins with a 30-minute 4x4 drive into the tropical rain forest outside the town of La Fortuna, in the shadow of the Arenal Volcano. We trek through the forest on magical trails that lead to some of the most spectacular waterfalls in Costa Rica, a place very few people get to experience. Along the way we will have the chance to discover the secrets that lie hidden deep within the canyon.
From the first waterfall we will rappel down from the top into the beautiful and pristine canyon below. The adventure includes four rappels, three of which are along waterfalls, and one dry rock face. Then it’s just a short trek out of the canyon where we jump into the vehicles and head back to the base camp.

Horses to the Arenal Volcano
This horseback tour is very different from others. You will depart from a private farm. The whole tour is done completely on the slopes of the Arenal volcano, not on conventional roads but in a mountain trail that was used many years ago by the pioneers of the region.

La Fortuna-Monteverde Horse Expedition

Venado Caves Tour
The amazing Venado Caves were formed during the Miocene period, fifteen to twenty million years ago. For many years they were below sea level. Due to tectonic movements they surfaced and are waiting to be explored by you.
The caves were discovered by the Guatuzos Aborigines. Limestone rocks, stalactites, stalagmites and corals form most of the cave. The whimsical stone formations were sculpted by an underground river.
The length of the tour into the caves is one and a half hours. During this time you will find marine fossils, plenty of bats, spiders and crickets.
Feel the adrenaline while exploring the cave from the upper part and while walking through the river and waterfalls.

Rio Celeste Waterfall
Here you will experience real contact with nature and at the same time discover one of Costa Rica’s hidden mysteries, Rio Celeste. You will hike rainforest trails for approximately four hours that cover more than seven kilometers.
During the walk you will visit places such as the Lagoon, Los Teñideros, a place where two pristine brooks meet forming the perfect chemistry, delighting you with a heavenly turquoise color, and the thermal mud-filled cavities in the ground.
Also take a warm and soothing thermal bath at Tenorio natural springs. After reaching volcanic fumaroles, which eject steam and high temperature gasses, you will finish your hike down at the splendid waterfall of Rio Celeste.

ATV Tour
La Fortuna Waterfall
We start at La Pradera Hotel. After an explanation of how to safely drive, the security rules and driving practice, we will go to the La Fortuna Falls. Once there, you will pay an entrance fee to the viewpoint where you can appreciate the spectacular view of the waterfall and take some pictures. On the way back we will stop at Jauri town to see the different kinds of plantations and then continue driving to the Arenal River. On the way we will be going through La Guaria town where you can see how Costa Ricans live. Once we get there, we will cross the river and you will see an old hanging bridge and you may take a refreshing shower at the river if you like. From there, it’s back to La Pradera Hotel.

ATV Tour
The Farm Tour
We start at La Pradera Hotel. After an explanation of how to safely drive, the security rules and driving practice, we will go to a private farm, through beautiful scenery with trees, birds, and animals. We will go all the way up to a very high point on the base of the Volcano Arenal. From there you can see all of the Arenal area and the majestic Arenal Volcano. There we will have a drink and after a break we are all ready for the rest of the adventure. We will drive to the Arenal River, going through the town of La Guaria. Once at the river you can take a refreshing shower and rest for a while before heading back to the hotel.

White Water Rafting Class 3 and 4
El Toro River
Our most popular tour
Join us for a great day of rafting. Set deep in the Costa Rican rain forests and fed by waters from the Poas Volcano, the Toro river winds 12 km (about 8 miles) through the canyon filled with dramatic scenery and heart pumping excitement. The Toro River offers some of Costa Rica’s best white water with big waves, technical rapids and continuous white water. This trip is full of nonstop class three and four rapids, making for a great day of white water rafting!
Our journey begins with a one hour scenic drive through the Eastern portion of central Costa Rica, through the beautiful pineapple, papaya, and yucca fields, with Volcano Arenal set in the backdrop. We make a few stops at the Iguana Bridge and to try some local sugarcane. Once we reach our destination, our trained/skilled guides will review the rules and safety guidelines for the river. Then we will take the PLUNGE and head down river. We will enjoy the spectacular scenery and a thrilling ride. Halfway through our journey we will “re-fuel” on the river bank and enjoy some delicious tropical fruit while soaking in the tropical surroundings. At the end of our journey we will indulge in ice cold refreshments followed by a typical Costa Rican lunch filled with Gallo Pinto and fresh fruits. So come challenge yourself and RIDE THE BULL! White Water Rafting Class 2 and 3
Sarapiqui River
This scenic tropical river offers an exciting day of rafting. The crystal clear waters of the Sarapiqui are full of action packed class two and three rapids. This river is perfect for all levels of rafting from experts to first timers and families.
Our journey starts with a one hour and twenty minute scenic drive through the Eastern portion of central Costa Rica, through the beautiful pineapple, papaya, and yucca fields, with Volcano Arenal set in the backdrop. After a short safety briefing with our local professional guides we head down the river. With the lush rainforest as our backdrop you can expect fourteen kilometers (about 10 miles) of unforgettable action and breathtaking nature. White Water Half Day Rafting Class 2 and 3
Balsa / San Carlos River
Experience the excitement of white water rafting on this half day adventure on the Balsa/San Carlos River with rapids graded class two and three. Your white water rafting experience starts with a pickup from your hotel. You will meet your river guide and will be transferred thirty five minutes to the put in where the fun begins. We will stop along the way to see the “blue jeans” poisonous dart frog and see the “channel #5 tree”.
Once at the put in your bilingual guides will explain the safety procedures before embarking down the river. We will enjoy up to two exhilarating hours of white water action. Once at the San Carlos Bridge we end our journey and enjoy a swim.

Inflatable Kayak Class 2 and 3

Our inflatable kayak trips are offered on the Sarapiqui and the Balsa/San Carlos Rivers (see above description). Please note that good physical condition and previous river experience is highly recommended for the kayak trips.
Challenge your ONE on ONE! “Duckie” trips are a blast! Navigating your own inflatable kayak is an exciting way to experience the rivers. Get up close and personal with the rapids and get wet, really wet, even in low water! We provide dry land instruction on how to maneuver your kayak through rapids and introduce basic paddle skills. This river has fast but manageable rapids perfect for small kayaks. It is a very continuous river with lots of action. The trips are always guide supported with instructors traveling the river with you to offer tips, provide route suggestions and to keep your trip safe and enjoyable. Cold drinks, delicious tropical fruit and sandwiches (we offer sandwiches on the Sarapiqui River only) await us at the end of our trip.

Jeep Boat Jeep to Monteverde
One Way Transportation
The Jeep-Boat-Jeep is the best way to travel from La Fortuna to Monteverde. Our minivan will pick you up from La Fortuna, taking you towards Lake Arenal, where you will board a covered boat that will take you across Lake Arenal to Rio Chiquito. From there another private minivan will take you either to Santa Elena or Monteverde downtown.
