One Day Adventure
For Water Lovers

Float on the quiet waters of the Peñas Blancas River in an inflatable raft with our expert guide. You may also see animals like sloths, monkeys, toucans, crocodiles, turtles and birds. Afterward you will go white-water rafting on the Balsa River. No experience is necessary for this tour. Though a helmet and life jacket will be provided, it is still advised that you know how to swim.

Following rafting, we will take a walk through the rainforest that sits just below the Arenal Volcano and will possibly see monkeys and a variety of birds ending with a refreshing beverage with a magnificent view of the volcano. To end this perfect day, take a dip in the hot springs that offer multiple pools of various temperatures.

At 7:30 am the tour starts in La Fortuna and you can take your pick: The Hanging Bridges or the Safari Float. After the morning excursion, you hike to the La Fortuna Waterfall and then eat lunch. After a delicious local-style lunch, you then hike the Arenal Volcano, where your guide will talk about the natural and geological history of the volcano.

Wrap up the day with some time in one of the hot springs resorts where you can soak in the thermal springs and enjoy dinner.

Volcano Arenal

Enjoy a beautiful hike through the Costa Rican tropical rainforest, walking for two hours on the Arenal hanging bridges. You will experience wonderful panoramic views of the Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal. Your adventure will continue with a visit to the breathtaking Rio Fortuna waterfall. The plants and animals will join you on the way down to an amazing sixty meter waterfall. Enjoy yourself with a refreshing bath in the cool waters below.

At 3:30 pm you will continue on a one and a half hour guided hike through rainforest trails that will lead you to the main observation point of the Arenal volcano. If the weather is good you will witness a spectacular firework of molten lava, and gas eruptions.

Arenal Volcano Hiking Tour

This tour takes you to the active side of Arenal where our naturalist guide will take you through rainforest trails for a nice, gentle hike to view a large variety of diverse plants and animals, such as monkeys, toucans, wild turkeys, sloths, a large variety of birds, and sometimes snakes.

You will be arriving at the observation point just before sunset, where you will have the chance to hear and feel the deep rumbling that precedes occasional eruptions of steam, smoke, and molten lava. At night, if it's not cloudy, the show is even more stupendous as the mammoth volcano spews red lava, and huge rocks that glow against the dark sky.

While watching the volcano, and taking pictures, your guide will share some history and information about the area and the volcanoís activity. Then you will continue down to the exotic and relaxing hot springs nearby, to sit back and relax in this soothing water that soaks away every aching muscle.

Baldi Hot Springs is the only option with this tour.

Morning Volcano Hike

For those who have the desire to experience a Costa Rican rain forest, we offer a wonderful tour of the Silencio reserve. After just a 20 min drive to the farm, we will start our 2 ½ hour trek through the forest. During this walk, we have the possibility of spotting 3 different species of monkeys, sloths, and a large variety of birds, including the Toucan.

We end our walk with a refreshing beverage and, hopefully, a magnificent view of Costa Rica’s most active volcano, erupting regularly since 1968. If you wish, we will conclude the tour by relaxing in the nearby natural hot springs, from where you will also have nice view of Arenal Volcano.

Horses to La Fortuna Waterfall
