There are very few hotels like this in the world, none other like it in Costa Rica.

All the rooms are built up among the branches of the trees: they are tree houses.

You will sleep and stay in a tree house that is a fully equipped observatory in the midst of a wildlife refuge.

 

Breakfast as well as the use of all the accommodations is included in the price of your tree house.

Since the hotel is a wild life refuge the bird watching and wild life watching is exceptional.

Around our reserve most of the rain forest has been cut down by their owners to use the land for agricultural purposes, this makes our hotel an island where the wildlife finds refuge, food and shelter, a perfect place to live and procreate.

The hotel is home to many species of wildlife including howler monkeys, coati, and several species of wild cats, deer, sloth, kinkajou, agouti, paca, porcupaine, anteaters, iguanas, poison dart frogs, snakes and many other species often passing under your tree house, or moving about the trees surrounding the tree houses unaware of your presence in the canopy.

There are few places in Costa Rica where you will see so many species of birds. There are toucans, parrots, hawks, humming birds and many, many others visible around.

The beauty and the number of species of butterfly will amaze you.

In our hummingbird gallery we have seen as many as 14 hummingbirds of different species feeding on a single feeder at one time and we have 10 feeders in that place along. In addition to the feeders the hummingbirds can find food in more than 30 species of Helicon found in the hotel. Many more species of other flowers have been planted around the tree houses, the main building and along the trails to attract the humming birds, not to mention the incredible variety of species of trees and other plants that grow naturally in the rain forest and offer food and shelter to them.

You will see all this wildlife all around your tree house, and while you have breakfast in our verandah here is where we have our humming bird gallery.

 

We are situated right on the main road between San Jose and the Arenal Volcano. This road is not only the main road but it is also in great condition and is the most picturesque and safe road to the Arenal Volcano and the Tree Houses. Traveling this mountain road is like visiting a gallery of pictures, every turn of this road looks like a post card as it goes up and down the mountains and through many picturesque little hamlets and towns, it is nothing like anything back home .

You don’t need a 4 X 4 to get to our place: you can reach us with any kind of car, even by bus or taxi.

You will be amaze at the many different styles of constructions of the homes and buildings along the route; you will see a beautiful garden in front of the most humble little houses by the sides of the road and all along the way as this road travels through lush very green hills.

Our location have easy access to the many attractions available in our area yet it is away from the beaten path and any heavy concentration of hotels and restaurants: we are in the midst of the real Costa Rican way of life.

We are situated 25 minutes away from the Arenal volcano, probably the main tourist attraction in Costa Rica, and 15 minutes away from Ciudad Quesada a typical midsize Costa Rican mountain town. Here, and around our place, you can eat where the Costa Ricans eat, not where the tourists eat, adding a new dimension to your experience-and saving money in the process. But, if you prefer, in Ciudad Quesada you will also find a KFC and a Pizza Hut, their prices and quality are about the same than in the US, sorry no McDonald or Burger King.

You will also find in Ciudad Quesada a few fine restaurants and you can shop in an exciting and safe environment not found in the bigger cities. You can stroll on its streets and the park in front of the church or seat there and enjoy the scenery as people go by.

One place we recommend is the market, "la plaza" a typical place in the center of the town where you can have a meal surrounded by the butcher shops, fish stores, bakeries and all kind of little business, the rural Costa Rican version of a Mall -nothing like the ones back home.

 

In our hotel you will live an unique experience in an unique country. After you have seen the volcano with its flowing lava, the waterfalls, the mountains, gone on a white waters rafting or kayak trip, enjoy the excitement of a canopy tour after a horse back ride why finish the day by going to sleep in a "normal" room? , you can do that at home!... sleep among the branches of the trees instead, stay in one of our tree houses, and make the adventure go around the clock.
